throught the lens of the bulb

A single image of all seven images in this project.
For Graphic Design (ART-235) class at BYUi, our first major project is to use a single object and integrate it into seven creative strategies. I chose to use a string light socket and bulb to replace things that are associate with objects having to do with brightness and weight.
Seven Creative Strategies
Combination: This brings together two different or unrelated things to create a new object that still makes some sort of sense.
Juxtaposition: This is more about contrast, i.e. showing the differences between two things rather than their similarities.
Isolation: Focuses the viewer on an element in a composition by separating it visually from its surroundings or other objects.
Metaphor or Simile: This  focuses on the meaning of the image created with your object as it relates to something else.
Change of Context: Contrasts objects with unnatural or uncommon environments to communicate an idea.
Physical/Shape Similarity: Uses physical similarities to showcase connections between objects that normally don’t connect.
Material Change, Swap, or Focus: Swaps a material property that we are accustomed to with another
COMBINATION (lite-dressing): The dress mimics the look of a bulb reflector. The woman’s shoes also match the contours of the glass which adds a bit of realism. Also, there is something about the her standing inside it that reminds me of a weeble-wobble.
JUXTAPOSITION (backlit Face): I really like the strong transition from the face to half of the light bulb. The bulb has a similar form as the face. I think having the bulb over the blurred face adds a bit of mystery at the same time.
ISOLATION (one of these things is not like the others): The avocados on the wood board creates a strong connection in both  form and shape.
SIMILE (bright as the sun):
This is the one I struggled with the most. Trying to find a good image that would clearly act as a simile. Not only do I like the design and the simplicity of the simile, it is a very powerful image.
CHANGE OF CONTEXT (lighting the fireworks):  love the idea this is lit from both ends. The bulb has a classic cherry bomb type look and the electrical line is a perfect way to act as the wick.
PHYSICAL/SHAPE SIMILARITY (light as air): One of the images that I knew I wanted to use was a play on words that the bulb was light in weight. This was a great way to showcase that perspective.
MATERIAL CHANGE (come on baby light my fire)This is another  image is a very simple but powerful image by mixig  the bulb within a match that is lit.
